Screen testing
This is a video of our initial filming of Megan McGill. we decided not to use this as the microphone was in shot and the lighting was too dark as we filmed her in front of a window without realising. We also decided not to use other footage of Megan as we felt that we had detailed enough answers with Alex Gibbon and felt that we did not have enough time in our documentary for them both.

Possible Questions
After deciding on possible interviews we had to come up with possible questions that were very open ended so that we could get an answer from all the interviewees on their chosen topics. The questions we came up with are:
When did you start becoming interested in (chosen inspiration)?
Have your inspirations effected/ changed your life?
Does (chosen subject) have anything to do with your future career/plans?
How did you get inspired?
Who got you interested in (chosen subject)?
What is your favourite aspect of it?
Does it impact on your day to day life?
Possible Interviewees
I have to say I was very excited at doing a documentary based on people and what inspires them to be who they are and better at what they do. I think it is much more original than alcohol which has been done a lot in the past especially in the mainstream media. As a group we came up with possible interviewees for our documentary. This list shows their names and the topic that inspires them, which we would be interviewing them on:
Alex Gibbons - Music
Megan - Films
Naomi - Dance
Adam - Cricket
Daisy - Fashion
Phil Khan - Architecture
Out of this list we will decide to film the three that we feel seem to have the best answers and are most natural on camera.
Starting again
After coming back together from the initial ideas and research we were trying to think of an angle for our documentary but we decided that there wasn't even time to go in to enough depth for alcohol. We then had a brainstorm together and decided to do our documentary based on people and their inspirations. We then did initial research again, since I am an avid runner I decided to use sport but mainly running as my starting point:

Final Ideas and Initial Research
After regrouping we all read through our lists and we decided to do the topic of alcohol for our documentary since we all had it for our initial ideas. We also thought it would be a topic we could all offer ideas on and that there would be a lot of aspects to cover. We then decided to do individual research on the topic.
Initial Ideas
After getting into groups we decided to come up with ideas separately for our documentary. The initial ideas I came up with are:
Fashion
Beauty
Health care
Plastic surgery
Sport
Leaving for university
Alcohol

Video Brief - Project 1
We were given a brief to get in to small groups of no more than 5 people and make a documentary on a topic we pick that has to be between 2 and 3 minutes long. We also have to keep research and development throughout this project to show our thoughts and decisions. I have decided to keep a blog for this.
